Barack Obama’s ability to accurately communicate continues to be a disappointment to anyone who pays close attention. Recently, he commented that he would “continue to refine” his policy on Iraq after an upcoming trip to the rapidly rebuilding country.
Obama’s overarching policy has long been that he would “end” the war within 16 months by withdrawing the troops. But his recent comments about continuing to “refine” his policy brought him significant negative attention.
The curious thing about this is that Obama had no idea that a suggestion that he was to “refine” his policy would cause a stir at all. In fact, Obama said “I was a little puzzled by the frenzy that I set off by what I thought was a pretty innocuous statement.”
This is disturbing to anyone who understands the importance of clear communication from a President. In fact, contrast Obama’s style of speech - eloquent, fluffy, largely void of content - with George W. Bush, who regularly destroys the English language and creates entirely new words on the spot, yet still manages to convey a clear thought.
I won’t be sorry to see Bush out of the White House. But if Obama replaces him, we’ll go from a President whose speech is simple and sometimes a little goofy, but always crystal clear to a President who has only recently learned that eloquence and clarity are not the same.

This is my wife Carole. I’ll admit that it was her looks that initially attracted me to her. But then I got to know her and found out there were far better things about her than the mere fact that she’s the hottest woman ever to grace the face of this earth.
I discovered she’s brilliant. An accomplished writer and editor. Well educated. A vocabulary that dwarfs mine (and mine is vastly superior to the average.) And the ability to perform research and learn anything in record time. She’s genuinely brilliant, as you’ll discover if you have a discussion with her about southern literature, European history or politics.
She’s incredibly pleasant, and genuinely fun to be around. She’s not one of those dreadful women who looks down on everyone. She’s so friendly and so classy and so wonderfully sociable. She makes everything a treat.
But I mean, come on — WOW! This woman is SCORCHING HOT.
I’m a lucky man. The luckiest, in fact. I’m still coming down from the EXTREME high of our last ____________ - nevermind. You get the point.
I didn’t mean to gloat. Nevermind. Yes I did. I’m giddy like a school boy!
Ok, back to serious commentary in the next post. In the mean time, I’ve got things to do….

For all his presumed eloquence, Democrat Barack Hussein Obama displays a keen knack for stepping in his own, ahem, stuff.
Obama has frequently and loudly criticized the mortgage business. As seems to be his solution for everything, he demands more regulation.
And then a somewhat minor explosion happened in the Obama camp: It was revealed that Jim Johnson, one of Obama’s key advisors, had received special treatment in his mortgage loan from Countrywide Mortgage on the basis of a relationship with the CEO of Countrywide, Angelo Mozilo.
Personally, I don’t really have a problem with that type of thing. It’s the way business works: You give special benefits to people who represent special value to you. But Obama had backed himelf into a corner because of his loud criticism of the mortgage industry, and the result was the exit of Jim Johnson from Obama’s campaign.
That wasn’t the end of the story. Apparently, Chris Dodd (Democrat-Connecticut) and Kent Conrad (Democrat-North Dakota) also received highly favorable and below-market loans, possibly in connection with political favors. Interestingly, Chris Dodd is the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. Is this a conflict of interest? Either it is, or Chris Dodd is a fool. Methinks both.
Alas, there’s a new twist in the Obama Mortgage Mess. The Washington Post reports Obama purchased a $1.65 Million mansion in Chicago through a “super jumbo loan” program from Northern Trust Bank, and that this loan was written far below prevailing interest rates. (Obama received a 30-year flat-rate mortgage at 5.625%.)
So what we have here is Obama’s decision to release a key member of his campaign for the exact same transgression committed by Obama himself.
Very questionable.

Ok, here’s what’s been happening:
As you know, I used to update this blog quite regularly with all of my thoughts and opinions. We got a lot of traffic, everything was good, and things were moving nicely.
Then I re-launched http://www.FreeRealEstateTraining.com and that site started to take off and do really well very instantly. And due to some other technical considerations, I had to change servers.
And so BryanEllis.com suffered for a couple of weeks. But it’s back now, and you’re going to love it! Generally speaking, everything real estate related will be posted at FreeRealEstateTraining.com and everything related to anything else that piques my interest will be posted here.
